ITINERARY CODE: JT &T 012    5 NIGHTS CLASSIC GHANA TOUR

 

DAY 1             ARRIVAL

We meet and welcome you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The night will be in Accra. 

 

DAY 2             ACCRA CLASSIC

After breakfast we leave for La township, meet with the La Mantse and his elders. We learn about the history of the La people. We also get to know why the name Labadi came about. We meet with the local people and interact with them and their social lives. We explore the local market and learn some of the words of the local language. The night will be in Accra.

 

DAY 3             ACCRA- KROBO TRADITIONAL AREAS 

We leave the hotel for the Krobo traditional area and arrive and meet with the local chief and his council of rulers. We learn about their history and their traditions, about their social lives and how they came to inhabit their present location. Exploration of the traditional cottage industries of the people will be done. A visit to the original home of the Krobos’ is also on schedule. We then return to Accra for the night.

 

DAY 4             ACCRA-AKWAMUFIE 

We depart Accra for the Akwamu traditional area, learn about the legendary chief who cause the first coup d’état in Africa by taking over the castle from the Danes. A view of the original keys of the Christiansburg castle which was the seat of the government of Ghana. We explore the farmlands and interact with local farmers. We head back to Accra and spend the night there.

 

DAY 5             ACCRA- ABURI GARDENS

The day will be spent at the century old Aburi botanical gardens for a story telling session and the oral history of the local people and the heroes of the past. We then explore the kaleidoscope of the gardens. The night will be spent back in Accra

 

DAY 6            DEPARTURE

The morning will be spent leisurely or for personal shopping. We proceed late afternoon to the airport for departure.

DAY 1        ARRIVAL

We meet and welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel for the night.

 

DAY 2          ACCRA CITY TOUR 

Depart for a city tour of Accra and we will visit the Du Bois Memorial Centre for pan African culture. Tour the national Museum to see both pre-historic as well as contemporary Ghanaian and African art and artifacts. Drive through down-town Accra for a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Park and have a guided tour into the life and work of this great African leader.

 

DAY 3       ACCRA- CAPE COAST

Our tour will take us to the Cape Coast Castle built by the British in 1667 and used during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and tour the infamous dungeons were Africans were imprisoned for further shipment to the slave plantations. Continue to Kakum National Park for a guided tour and a walk on the canopy walkway and also learn about the economic values of the tress in the forest. Overnight will be in Cape Coast.

 

DAY 4    CAPE COAST – KUMASI    

We will continue our tour to Elmina Castle, the biggest European architecture south of the Sahara, have a guided tour of the castle and learn about how the locals got their western names. We continue to Kumasi, make a stopover in some farming villages on the route. Thereafter we arrive and check into your hotel for the night.     

 

DAY 5     KUMASI 

We leave the hotel for the Kumasi Cultural Centre and the Prempeh Museum for a guided tour into Ashanti culture. We proceed to the Manhyia Palace Museum for a guided tour where you will see rare royal paraphernalia and effigies of past Ashanti Kings. We continue to the craft villages of Ahiwiaa for wood carvings, Ntonso for traditional Adinkra cloth where you can also make your own patterns and visit the world famous Kente weaving village of Bonwire. We return to Kumasi for lunch and stay there overnight.

 

DAY 6     KUMASI- ACCRA 

 After breakfast we head south east wards to Accra and arrive late afternoon. The rest of the day is leisurely spent relaxing or shopping as one desires.

 

DAY 7    DEPARTURE  

The morning is then spent for private activities. We leave late afternoon to the airport for departure.

 

 

 

ITINERARY CODE:  JT&T 014   7 NIGHTS BEACH EXPERIENCE IN GHANA

                                  

DAY 1             ARRIVAL

We meet and welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel. The night will be in Accra.

DAY 2             ACCRA-ADA - ACCRA

The day will be spent at the estuary at Ada for water sports and boat ride on the famous Volta Lake. We then return to Accra late evening.

 

DAY 3           ACCRA- WHITE SANDS BEACH  

We spend the day at the beautiful White Sands beach in Gomoa Fetteh a few minutes’ drive from the capital. In the evening, there will be a bonfire at the beach and cultural performance. You can even participate in the rich Ghanaian dance. The night will be sent there.

 

DAY 4           BEACH DAY

We will continue to spend the day at the beach for water sports and other exciting activities. A night party at the beach will be organized until one retires to bed.

 

DAY 5            WHITE SANDS- BUSUA BEACH

We then leave White Sands for the stunning Busua beach in the Western region and spend the rest of the day at the beach. In the evening, we will have variety show at the beach. The night will be at Busua.

 

DAY 6            BEACH DAY 

We spend the day at the beach swimming and have a beach volley ball, table tennis, badminton competitions. We pass the rest of the night out at the Busua beach resort.   

 

DAY 7             BUSUA - ACCRA

We depart for Accra making stopovers in some historic villages and towns. We arrive in Accra for the night.

 

DAY 8             DEPARTURE

The morning is spent shopping for souvenirs. We then leave for the airport late afternoon for departure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ITINERARY CODE:  JT&T 015   12 NIGHTS HERITAGE AND WILDLIFE TOUR OF GHANA

 

DAY 1                      ARRIVAL

We meet and welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel for the night.

 

DAY 2                      ACCRA – ADA

We will travel to Ada Beach Resort, an idyllic beach for swimming and have fun till sunset. We also experience the exciting cruising on the Volta Lake. Lunch and Dinner will be enjoyed there. The night will be at the beach resort.

 

DAY 3                      ADA – HO

 After breakfast, we will drive to Xavi Birds Sanctuary to watch the various species of birds in their different shapes, colors and sizes. You will most definitely enjoy their welcoming “chorus”. We will break for lunch there followed by a cruise on the Lotor River that provides a chance to observe local fishing practices. We will view the beautiful and diverse flora that frames the river. Our next tourist site is the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary. You will see the endangered Mona Monkeys in their natural habitat.  Dinner will be at Ho.

 

DAY 4:                    HO

We will first stop at Mountain Afadjato, the highest mountain in Ghana. We will break for lunch and then proceed to Wli Waterfalls to experience the freshness of this charming waterfall. Dinner and the night will be at the hotel.

 

DAY 5                    HO – AKOSOMBO

In the morning, we will travel to Akosombo to view one of the largest man-made lakes in the world - the beautiful Volta Lake. We then proceed to Akosombo Dam for a guided tour. We will be educated on how electricity is generated in Ghana. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.  The night will be leisurely spent in Akosombo.

 

DAY 6                   AKOSOMBO – LARTE – ABURI

After breakfast, we will drive to the Akonedi Shrine at Larte. We will be briefed on the significance of their traditional beliefs and the Shrine. We will break for lunch at a local restaurant followed by a ride to Aburi Botanical Gardens where you experience the pure nature and fresh breeze of the gardens. There will be a brief tour of the gardens including education on the flora and their botanical names. Dinner and the night will be at Aburi.

 

DAY 7                 ABURI – KUMASI

Early morning departure to Kumasi after breakfast. Our first stop is the Manhyia Palace. We will watch a video clip on the Asante Culture and Kingship followed by a guided tour at the Museum. We will break for lunch. We will then proceed to the Kumasi Cultural Centre for traditional crafts items on sale. Dinner and the night will be at Kumasi.

  

DAY 8                      KUMASI – OBUASI

In the morning we will visit the Obuasi Goldmines. There will be a guided tour at the mining area for you to experience the process of mining and how the gold is extracted. Upon arrival in Kumasi, we will take lunch and then tour the Kejetia Market; one of the biggest open markets in West Africa. We will also visit the Kente Village at Bonwire. There will be indigenous Handicrafts, Pottery, Wood Carvings and Traditional Beads for sale.  Dinner and the night will be at Kumasi.

 

DAY 9                       KUMASI - SALAGA – YENDI – TAMALE.

There will be an early morning departure to the historic Salaga Slave Market. We will have a local lunch in Salaga, followed by a brief tour of Yendi’s historic township. Upon arrival in Tamale, we will have dinner and stay for the night.

 

DAY 10                      TAMALE – MOLE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will travel to Mole National Park, the home of “friendly elephants”. You will enjoy your Safari through this pristine Savanna vegetation with gallery forest along the rivers and streams. We will have lunch followed by a guided tour of the Larabanga Mosque, “the home of the Arabs”. The Mosque contains a Koran which is also as old as the Mosque itself and whose origin is still a mystery. Dinner and the night will be spent there.

 

DAY 11                       MOLE – KUMASI

After a breakfast, we will travel back Kumasi. On our way, we will stop over for lunch.  Dinner and the night will be at Kumasi. 

 

DAY 12                        KUMASI- ACCRA

We leave for Accra after breakfast, making a stopover at Nkawkaw for lunch and picture break.

 

DAY 13                         DEPARTURE

We will have a ride to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, then to the central market for last shopping. There will be free time for relaxation. Farewell dinner will be at the hotel followed by departure to the airport.

DAY 1       ARRIVAL

We meet and welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel for the night.

 

DAY 2        ACCRA CITY TOUR 

We depart in the morning for a city tour of Accra and we will visit the Du Bois Memorial Centre for pan African culture. Then tour the national museum to see both pre-historic as well as contemporary Ghanaian and African art and artifacts. We will have lunch at a local restaurant then drive through down-town Accra for a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Park and have a guided tour into the life and work of this great African leader. We will stop by for shopping at the Arts Centre and later on return to the hotel via the “Black Star Square” where major anniversaries are held. The night will be in Accra.

 

DAY 3       ACCRA- CAPE COAST

In the morning our tour will take us to the Cape Coast Castle built by the British in 1667 and used during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and tour the infamous dungeons were African captives were held before sent to the Americas and other destinations. We will also watch a video on the social organization of the country before the coming of the Europeans to the shores of Ghana at the West African historical museum. We depart for lunch at the local restaurant. We will have a walking tour of historical Cape Coast to view some buildings dating back to the 1600s and 1800s and spend the rest of the day at the beach relaxing. The night will be spent in Cape Coast.

 

DAY 4      CAPE COAST   

In the morning we continue our tour to the Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 which is the biggest European architecture in Sub Saharan Africa used by the Portuguese and the Dutch during the slave trade for a guided tour. We will have a walking tour of this historical Elmina township which was the first town to play host to the Europeans and view some historical buildings like the residences of the forced mistresses of the governors. We will interact with the local fisher -folks at the local fishing harbor and return to the hotel for night.      

 

DAY 5        CAPE COAST- KAKUM PARK

We drive to the Kakum National park to experience a rare tropical rain forest and have adventurous walk on the “canopy walkway”. To have a panoramic view of this tropical rain forest with different spices of butterflies. Also learn about the cultural and social values of the trees to the people. Depart Kakum for lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day at the beach relaxing. Overnight in Cape Coast.

 

 DAY 6         CAPE COAST - TAKORADI

We leave Cape Coast for Takoradi through a groove of coconut plantations and then have a tour of the historical Sekondi-Takoradi township. We continue to Akateyie crocodile village where the people hold these animals in high esteem. We then proceed to the village of Nkroful, the birth place of the first President of Ghana. Our return will be to Cape Coast for the night. 

 

DAY 7             CAPE COAST- KUMASI 

Early in the morning, we will leave Cape Coast for Kumasi. On arrival in Kumasi, we will visit the Kumasi Cultural Centre and the Prempeh Museum for a guided tour into the Ashanti culture. The night will be in Kumasi.

 

DAY 8             KUMASI

DAY 9             KUMASI- BOABEN FIAMA- KINTAMPO WATERFALLS

After breakfast we depart for Boaben Fiama monkey sanctuary where the animals live with the people in harmony. We then continue to Kintampo waterfalls. We return to Kumasi late evening for the night.

 

DAY 10           KUMASI- OBUASI

The day will be spent at Obuasi, the nation’s largest Gold mine and take a tour of the mine and a walking tour of the town. We will return to Kumasi late afternoon. 

 

DAY 11           KUMASI - ACCRA

Departure for Accra will be in the morning arriving late evening.

 

DAY 12           ACCRA

The entire day will be spent for leisure and private activities.     

 

DAY 13           ACCRA- AKOSOMBO

Early in the morning we will leave Accra for Akosombo to view the largest man-made lake in the world, the Volta Lake and also the hydro-electric dam which was built by the first president of the republic. The night will be spent in Akosombo.

 

DAY14           AKOSOSOMBO – ACCRA

We leave the next day from Akosombo via Shai hills for Accra and arrive early afternoon. We then visit the Independence Square, the historical and largest square on the African continent where important parades are held.

 

DAY15            DEPARTURE   

The morning will be spent for private activities. We finally leave late in the afternoon to the airport for departure.

This tour first takes you on a fishing village at Krokrobite, a town west of Accra, arriving there in time to observe the fishermen landing their catch. From there, drive to the academy of African arts for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon of African drumming and dancing performed by a resident cultural troupe at the African style resort situated in a rustic enclave.
